Bringing Ivan Meštrović to Riga

Our colleague and Senior Curator of Atelier Meštrović in Zagreb, Babara Vujanović, held a presentation entitled "Ivan Meštrović's portraits – sculpture in the service of cultural diplomacy" at the Latvian National Museum of Modern Art in Riga on November 30.
The lecture was organized as part of the exhibition "PORTRAIT IN LATVIA. 20th CENTURY. Facial Expressions", which marked th 100th anniversary of the founding of the Latvian state. The exhibition author is dr. art. Ginta Gerharde-Upeniece.
During her visit to Riga, thanks to the attentiveness of the curators of the Latvian National Museum of Modern Art, Barbara had the opportunity to research modern Latvian sculpture. Apart from the exhibition spaces and museum's depots, she also researched the museum's extensive library.
