On Ivan Meštrović and WW1 Yugoslav Monuments

Two of the Crosculpture team members, doc. dr. sc. Dalibor Prančević and Barbara Vujanović presented two separate topics on the corpus of Ivan Meštrović's public sculptures in relation to the First World War and related occurences.

The scientific symposium "Yugoslav Monuments Associated with the First World War (1918–1941)" was held on October 18-19 in Ljubljana's Modern Gallery. It brought together experts from former Yugoslavia who presented their research connected to this, until recently, insufficiently researched area, at least when the aforementioned region is concerned. The symposium was organized by the Department of Art History of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Ljubljana in partnership with the Igor Zabel Association for culture and theory as well as the Ljubljana's Modern Gallery.

If you would like to read more about the symposium, you can visit their official web site where you may find the program booklet as well as videos of all the presentations.

We hope you will find it equally fascinating and informative as we did!
