The Rodin - Phidias Nexus


Several of our team members, namely Barbara Vujanović and Dalibor Prančević, have dealt with the work of Ivan Meštrović very closely in the past, and continue to do so to this day. Even though his name is not directly mentioned in the title of this post, or is not the focus of the article we will be presenting here, it is relevant because Meštrović is what connects our two researchers - and dare we say it, Croatian modern sculpture as a whole - to that of Paris. Namely, the sculptoral giant we know as Rodin.

In her article on the newly opened exhibition Rodin and the art of ancient Greece (British Museum, London, April 26 – July 29, 2018), Barbara Vujanović traces the aforementioned connections and gives a quality, in-depth overview of the exhibition. Then again, we didn't expect anything less from her! :)
